DAY 1:
Your flight will land in San Jose, Costa Rica and you'll be ready to begin your adventure. Our driver will be waiting for you as you walk out of the airport and will take you to your hotel, the Don Carlos (about 20 minutes from the airport).
Located in the oldest historical section of San José, the hotel is a small, but significant part of Costa Rica’s rich heritage. Formerly home to two past Presidential families, the historical Hotel Don Carlos’ is warm and charming. Enjoy Costa Rica’s finest art works as you stroll through the gallery-like corridors and maze of quiet, garden & fountain settings, restaurant and mini pool. DAYS 2-3:
Over the next two days, you'll experience unforgettable white water rafting on the Pacuare River! You'll be picked up nice and early from the hotel (time to be determined, usually about 6:30am).
RIO PACUARE 2 DAY RAFTING ADVENTURE
Meet your driver in the lobby to be taken to your two day rafting experience with Pacuare Lodge. At the Pacuare Lodge, you can bird watch, hike, swim, fish, explore the rainforest canopy, visit a traditional indigenous community, or simply relax. Though the scenery and nature are spectacular, guests are equally impressed with the service, comfort, food and details such as the wine cellar, candlelight dinners and massage therapist. Many also applaud the Lodge's commitment to conservation, improving life in nearby communities, and mitigating our environmental impact through recycling, organic ingredients and reforestation, allowing you a carbon-neutral experience.
After your rafting adventure you will be dropped off at the Arenal Manoa Lodge near the Arenal Volcano. The Arenal Manoa Hotel is a beautiful place to rest, relax and enjoy the marvelous view of Arenal Volcano. Surrounded by gardens, pastures and animals, their rooms have been designed so that each one offers you a panoramic view of the volcano.
DAY 4:
You'll wake up and enjoy a delicious breakfast (included) at your hotel in their award-winning El Dorado Restaurant. Afterward you'll depart for your first tour...
The Lost Canyon is an experience of a lifetime – go where very few have had the privilege to roam: Imagine yourself in the midst of thick rainforest at the top of a magical canyon full of tropical waterfalls with surprises each step of the way. Prepare to get wet as our guides put you into your safety harness and you rappel and downclimb a series of 8 waterfalls that get gradually BIGGER!
Day 5:
This morning we head to the beach! After breakfast your driver will arrive and take you to Manuel Antonio. Nestled in the magnificent coastal forests of Costa Rica, Gaia Hotel and Reserve's well-appointed, terraced suites and villas offer views of lush and pristine wild surroundings that are beyond compare.
Day 6:
ATV Tour
You will ride through the mountain without reaching the mountaintop, taking occasional stops to interact with each other and rest. Throughout your journey you will be able to spot birds, dense vegetation and other impressive examples of nature. The end of the trail is marked by a stunning waterfall where you will dismount, hike approximately 300m and enjoy a 30 minute pit stop to take a swim or just kick back and admire the view.
Day 7:
Canopy Tour
Your canopy route consists of 12 cables and 16 platforms, 4 of which are built on the ground. The remaining 12 hang 90ft over the verdant tree canopy. As you zip from platform to platform and soar over the leafy treetops, you will be amazed by the new perspective of nature’s wonders that this Manuel Antonio tour offers you.
Day 8:
Manuel Antonio National Park Tour
Manuel Antonio, with its 1700 acres of land mass and 135,906 acres of marine reserve, is the smallest of the 20 national parks Costa Rica has set aside for total protection. The park is the natural habitat of species such as the endangered squirrel monkey (endemic to the area), white faced capuchin monkey, raccoons, three and two-toed sloths, white-nosed coaties, brown pelicans, black-collared hawks and green kingfishers. They share the space with primary and secondary forests, bursting with cedars, bully trees, black locusts and silk cotton trees. A mangrove swamp covers about 44.5 acres, adding to the biodiversity of the region. Three different species: red mangrove, buttonwood mangrove and white mangrove.
Your driver will meet you in the lobby at 4:00 pm to take you back to the San Jose area. You will be dropped off at the Zamora Estates Hotel. Be sure to have a delicous dinner at Zamora Estates prepared by Zamora's resident gourmet chef, Ana (she's also one of the owners). Having dinner at Zamora is the perfect way to end a fantastic trip to Costa Rica.
Day 9:
Enjoy one of Ana's amazing breakfasts before you head to to the airport for your return flight .

7 Day Birding Adventure
Day 1:
Arrive at San Jose International Airport and be met by our driver who will be holding up a sign with your name on it. He will take you to the Zamora Estates Hotel where you will spend one night. The Zamora Estate is a lovely property with private trails and is the home to many varieties of birds. Be sure to sit on the deck at sunset and watch the Egrets come to roost for the night alongside the pond.
Day 2:
After enjoying breakfast this morning, you'll leave for the airport at about 8.00 am and fly to Puerto Jimenez airport. A driver from Bosque del Cabo will be waiting to drive you to the Bosque del Cabo Rainforest Lodge where you will spend the next 3 nights.
Crowning a point 500 feet above where the Golfo Dulce meets the Pacific Ocean, nestled in the unspoiled jungles of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula is a true paradise. Bosque del Cabo is a premier Costa Rica Eco Lodge offering a romantic rain forest getaway and a naturalist’s dream come true.
Day 3:
Take a private guided birding tour in the morning, led by an experienced guide. You will see and learn about the abundant variety of birds. Then relax and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you. Corcovado National Park Tour
For a full day deep in the rain forest, Corcovado National Park is unparalleled for breathtaking beauty, abundant wildlife and foliage nearly pulsing with lushness.
The quiet of the jungle is occasionally broken with the guttural bark of howler monkeys, the shrieks of Scarlet Macaws and the rustle of Agoutis in the bush. Sloths make their slow way among branches overhead. The rainforest canopy creates a cool environment for hiking well-groomed trails.
At midday we'll have lunch under the shade of a mango tree on Llorona beach allowing you to enjoy the hiss and boom of the surf while resting from your morning's expedition.
The next leg of the adventure is a walk up the San Pedrillo River, leading to a rainforest waterfall great for a cool dip.
Day 5:
Today you'll be driven back to San Jose and to Zamora Estate where you will spend two nights.
Day 6:
La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and tour
On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house, the butterfly garden and the frog’s exhibit.
Day 7:
You will be driven to airport for your flight home.

10 Night Birding Adventure

Then relax and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you. The hotel offers many things to do, or you may choose to lounge by the pool or take a walk through the gardens and jungle

Early Birding Tour -- 6 am
This 5 hour tour takes you on a journey to see the abundant variety of birds found in the Monteverde area. This is a guided tour with expert tour guides.
Day 7:
Guided Cloud Forest Hike Santa Elena
The variable climate and large altitudinal gradient have helped to produce an amazingly heterogeneous set of creatures that live here. Some of these include the jaguar, ocelot, Baird’s tapir, three-wattled bellbird, bare-necked umbrellabird, and the famously elusive resplendent quetzal.
Day 8:
The Guided Nature Tour Monteverde provides a broader and more thorough experience of the marvels of the cloud forest. They are conducted by naturalist guides specializing in the area of Monteverde and Selvatura Park, which ensures that each walk will have a biological, ornithological and cultural approach of Monteverde and the cloud forest.
Day 9:
You will be driven to the San Jose area where you'll return to the Zamora Estates Hotel for your last two nights

Day 1:
Arrive in San Jose where you will be met by a driver who will take you to Hotel Si Como No near the lovely Manuel Antonio National Park on the Central Pacific Coast. You will be staying here for three nights. Breakfast is included in your stay.

Day 2:
Morning Tour of Manuel Antonio National Park
You will be picked up by the tour operator at your hotel and head directly to Manuel Antonio National Park. This national park is one of the most famous in our country due to its wide variety of flora and fauna specimens. The park itself boasts 3 different trails, varying in grade from flat to very steep. On this Manuel Antonio tour you will be accompanied by a nature guide who is knowledgeable about everything you will see. The trail you will take is flat and picturesque and loops through the park making your course approximately 2 miles long.
Day 3:
Damas Island Mangrove Tour
This Manuel Antonio tour takes you through the natural channels and provides an ideal opportunity to observe heron species, kingfishers, ospreys, frigots and other migratory birds. As you journey through the brackish waters you can catch glimpses of the island as you pass beneath tunnels made naturally from tree growths.
Day 4:
Today, you will be driven to the town of Uvita where you will stay at Oxygen Hotel for 3 nights. The Oxygen Jungle Villas are inspired by traditional Indonesian architecture comining a Balinese style with modern comfort and quality.
Day 5:
Whales and Dolphins Tour
On a trip that takes between 2 and 3 hours, you will have the unique opportunity to observe different species of dolphins and whales. The dolphins are seen all year round, while the whales can be spotted from November to March and July to September.

Get ready for a day of adrenaline and extreme fun! This tour provides transportation from your hotel to the river put it. You will enjoy the scenic road trip as it takes you over winding gravel roads through remote countryside landscapes. While you are attempting to tame the rapids of Savegre River, your guide will be riding beside you to ensure your safety. This river features class II and class III rapids. Once you reach the end of the river you will be able to take a closer look at your surroundings and admire the colorful flora and fauna. Your guide will lead you to a stunning waterfall where you will stop for snacks. You can take advantage of this relaxing pause and swim a little in the calm pond nearby. Day 8:
Transfer to La Cusinga Rainforest Lodge for 5 nights.

A day trip to Caño Island will prove to be an unforgettable experience to divers, snorkelers, hikers, and nature lovers alike.
The island is around 8 miles off the coast of the Osa Peninsula. You will likely have the opportunity to see schools of dolphins swimming around the boat. Whales cruise these waters and are often sighted during their migration season.
Caño Island rises like a giant emerald from the sea. Soaring coastal cliffs, white-sand beaches and a densely forested interior make this island one of the most dramatic landmasses in the area.
Day 12:
Combo Tour in Marino Ballena National Park
Marino Ballena National Park is named after the Humpback Whales that migrate here each year from December to April to mate before returning to the frigid waters to the north. Along with whale watching you will be able to snorkel in the beautiful waters of this prized national park

Arrival
Arrive at San Jose International Airport (SJO) where you'll be picked up by your driver who will be waiting outside holding a sign with your names on it. He will take you to Banana Azul in Puerto Viejo on the beautiful Carribbean Coast. Here you will stay in the Apartment by the hotel with beautiful garden and partial ocean view.
DAY 2:
Animal Sanctuary/Chocolate Tour
Wake and enjoy your breakfast and prepare to be picked up by your tour company to take you to your Animal Sanctuary and Chocolate Farm Tour.
This trip combines three of our most popular activities: a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center, a visit to an indigenous family that shows you how they make chocolate right from the Cacao trees in their yard and a visit to a local waterfall and swimming hole.
The Jaguar Animal Center rehabilitates mistreated, injured and/or confiscated animals, which are then reintroduced to their natural habitat in protected areas. Visitors have direct contact with monkeys, wild cats, sloths, raccoons, anteaters, marsupials, reptiles, amphibians, etc.
DAY 3:
White Water Rafting
This trip gives you the ultimate blend of wilderness exposure and invigorating excitement. The Pacuare River is world famous for its pristine beauty. A true river gorge, it is flanked by steep, green walls. Waterfalls cascade into the river from both sides as colorful, tropical birds fly right over your head.
DAY 4:
Cahuita Boat, Snorkel and Hiking Trip
Parque Nacional Cahuita has the largest system of Coral Reefs in Costa Rica, including 6 species of coral, a wide range of colorful tropical fishes and the occasional encounter of a harmless reef shark or sting ray. This beach has a horse shoe shape, with the entrance of the park at one end and beautiful Punta Cahuita at the other end.
DAY 5:
Arenal Manoa
After breakfast you'll make your way back to Puerto Viejo for a drop off at Hotel Banana Azul, where you'll be met by your shuttle bus at 10:15 a.m. and will be taken the Arenal Area. The ride will take approximately 6 and 1/2 hours and will bring you to the luxurious Arenal Manoa Hotel in La Fortuna. Have lunch (not included), relax by the pool; enjoy the Jacuzzi and feast in the El Dorado Restaurant (not included), all while you enjoy the view of the flow of lava from the nearby Arenal Volcano.
DAY 6:
Hanging Bridges Tour
Pick-up: 7:45 a.m.
Because most wildlife is visible in the mornings, the Arenal Hanging Bridges tour takes place early on a 600-acre reserve filled with lush vegetation and a variety of birds and animals which your experienced guide will help you spot. The trail itself is 1.9 miles (3.1 km) in length, crossing nine fixed bridges and 6 suspension bridges and is laid out at a maximum grade of 7 degrees so that anyone can walk it. After your tour, you'll be transported back to your hotel for lunch.
Canopy Tour
Be ready at the hotel to be picked up at 2:30 pm for your exiting Canopy (Zip-Line) tour.
Sky Trek runs one of the best canopy tours in the country. Your adventure starts with a tour in the Sky Tram to reach the top of the Arenal Reserve. There you begin your adrenaline-filled tour above the treetops, consisting of a system of zip lines. They allow you to observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different perspective, safely in an innovative and different system.
The tour includes 8 cross-sectional cables that together have a total length of 1.7 miles with distances from 100 to 2460 feet, and with a maximum height of 660 feet, which exceed the treetops providing a panoramic view of the Arenal volcano and lake.
They will take you back to your hotel so you can rest up for tomorrow.
DAY 7:
Transfer to San Jose
Today after having time to lounge and enjoy the facilities at the hotel your transport will pick you up at the hotel in the afternoon and transfer you to San Jose. You will be dropped off at the hotel Don Carlos. The Don Carlos Hotel is located in the oldest historical section of San José, the Hotel Don Carlos is a small, but a significant part of Costa Rica’s rich heritage. Once the residence of two past Presidential families, the historical Hotel Don Carlos’ warmth and charm, graciously awaits you. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in your hotel or looking around San Jose.
DAY 8:

He will make sure you have everything you need and will take you to Puerto Viejo to Hotel La Costa del Papito on the beautiful Caribbean Coast. Our driver will have your flight information and will track your flights just in case of any delays or problems.
DAY 2:
Animal Sanctuary/Chocolate Tour
Wake up and enjoy your breakfast. Then prepare to be picked up by the tour company to take you to your Animal Sanctuary and Chocolate Farm Tour.

The ride will take approximately 6 and 1/2 hours and will bring you to the Arenal Manoa Hotel in La Fortuna. Have lunch (not included), relax by the pool, enjoy the Jacuzzi, and feast in the El Dorado Restaurant (not included) while you enjoy the view of the flow of lava from the nearby Arenal Volcano.
DAY 6:
Arenal Volcano Hike and Baldi Hot Springs Tour
Hike through lush rain forest, with a naturalist guide, close to the base of the Arenal Volcano where we wait for sunset at the observation point. As it starts to get dark, on clear nights you can see the amazing lava flow of Central America's most-active volcano. Duration: 2.5 to 3 hours. Includes: guide, transportation, entrance to private reserve, and volcano viewpoint.
Later, take a relaxing dip in the Baldi Natural Hot Springs and enjoy the area's specialty tropical drinks at the swim-up bar (not included).This is fun for the whole family. There are also 3 waters slides for the kids to enjoy. Remember to bring bathing suits and towels. At approximately 9:30 pm you will be driven back to your hotel, where you can enjoy the rest of your evening.
DAY 7:
Canopy Tour
You will be picked up at 2:30 pm for your exiting Canopy (Zip-Line) tour.
Your adventure starts with a tour in the Sky Tram to reach the top of the Arenal Reserve. There you begin your adrenaline-filled tour above the treetops, consisting of a system of exciting zip lines. You will be able to observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different perspective, safely in an innovative and unique zip lining system.

Venado Caves Tour
Spend the morning sleeping in and enjoying breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, go where few have gone before. Explore Earth's inner-depths in Cavernas de Venado, during a 2-hour trek through underground waterfalls & smooth, stone passage-ways. See prehistoric, marine fossils and exotic cave formations. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel or at the pool.
DAY 10:
Transfer to San Jose
Today your transport will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you back to San Jose. You will be dropped off at the hotel Don Carlos. DAY 11:
Orosi Valley Tour
Today we get out of the city for a bit to visit Cartago, first capital of Costa Rica, home of Our Lady of the Angels Basilica. After visiting the Basilica we will stop at Lankester Gardens, a University of Costa Rica Center for investigation that protects more than 800 species of orchids, bromeliads and countless species of other plants. You will continue to the Valley of Orosi where everything overflows in unparalleled beauty.
You will be able to visit one of the few remaining colonial churches and will stop for lunch in one of the local restaurants. During your tour you will be able to observe La Casa Del Soñador for an example of Costa Rican primitive art. Orosi is home to the oldest church in Costa Rica still holding mass. It was constructed in 1743 by Franciscan monks. Then, tonight it's back to the Don Carlos and tomorrow to the arts and crafts towns of Grecia and Sarchi to stock up on souvenirs and gifts for family and friends back home.
DAY 12:
Grecia and Sarchi Tour
This tour begins with a wonderful drive through some of the largest coffee and sugar cane plantations of Costa Rica. Arriving first at Grecia, we will see the famous metal church. Next, we will tour the fascinating craftsman factories of Sarchi; where they build the famous oxcarts of Costa Rica. Splendidly decorated and in various sizes, these oxcarts are treasured worldwide for their unique beauty. You will not want to leave Costa Rica without one!
Day 13:
Doka Coffee Estate, Poás Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens Tour
To get to the different attractions included during this excursion we will drive by the city of Alajuela passing by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park.
Ascending towards the Poás Volcano you will notice the change in temperature and vegetation. You will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful landscape.
On the way to the volcano you will visit Doka Coffee Estate for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where you will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica. Learn about the careful process involved in the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean.
After the coffee tour continue on to Poás Volcano where you will not only see the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park.
Following the visit to the volcano you will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and tour. On arrival to the La Paz, you will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park you will also visit the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house, the butterfly garden and the frog’s exhibit.

Day 1:
Arrive in San Jose where you will be met by a driver who will take you to Zamora Estates Hotel.
The Zamora Estate is your unexpected and intriguing island of natural beauty hidden in the midst of Costa Rica’s capital city, San Jose.
You'll be whisked away from the cares of this world as you relax in your winsome private cottage. Day 2:

Experience coffee through the ages. You will even be able to participate in the picking of coffee during our harvest Season (Oct- Jan.) Your guides will then take you through the processing of coffee, including cleaning the berries and drying them. You will then roast your own coffee in the roasting and packing house.

Penas Blancas Tour - afternoon
Be prepared for your 1:00pm pick up at the main doors of the hotel for your Safari Float on the lovely Penas Blancas river. This completely relaxing float trip takes you on the beautiful Rio Peñas Blancas where you're bound to spot tropical birds, monkeys, poison dart frogs, and more!

Today you'll get out of the city to visit Cartago, first capital of Costa Rica, home of Our Lady of the Angels Basilica. After visiting the Basilica you'll stop at Lankester Gardens, a University of Costa Rica Center for investigation that protects more than 800 species of orchids, bromeliads and countless species of other plants. You will continue to the Orosi Valley. You will be able to visit one of the few remaining colonial churches and stop for lunch in one of the local restaurants.

Hanging Bridges Tour
The Arenal Hanging Bridges tour is on a 600-acre reserve filled with lush vegetation and a variety of birds and animals which your experienced guide will help you spot. The trail itself is 1.9 miles (3.1 km) in length, crossing nine fixed bridges and 6 suspension bridges and is laid out at a maximum grade of 7 degrees so that anyone can walk it. After your tour, you'll be transported back to your hotel for lunch.
Canopy Tour
Be ready at the hotel to be picked up at 2:30 pm for your exciting Canopy Zip Line tour. There you begin your adrenaline-pumping adventure above the treetops, consisting of a system of zip lines. You will definitely observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different, safe, perspective.
The tour includes 8 cross-sectional cables that together have a total length of 1.7 miles with distances from 100 to 2460 feet with a maximum height of 660 feet. You'll be soaring along the treetops and enjoying panoramic views of the Arenal volcano and lake.
You will then be taken back to Hotel Nayara so you can rest up for tomorrow.

Within this magnificent landscape, your guide will help you identify some of the more than 260 species of birds and 180 species of mammals that call the park their home. Use a telescope to spot exotic toucans, flocks of parakeets and parrots, and the vivid colors of tanagers and hummingbirds that may be found camouflaged in the dense forest. To take advantage of the weather, during the green season this is a morning cruise. During the dry season it's a sunset cruise.
As the boat glides quietly under sail, you'll probably see dolphins which frequently swim in the boat's wake. Occasional whales and giant sea turtles make an appearance and are a special thrill. Manuel Antonio Park Tour
Transportation provided by the tour operator will pick you up at your hotel from where you will start your ride to Manuel Antonio National Park. This national park is one of the most famous in our country due to its wide variety of flora and fauna specimens. The park itself boasts 3 different trails that vary in grade from flat to very steep.
On this Manuel Antonio tour you will be accompanied by a nature guide who is knowledgeable about everything you will see. The trail you will take is flat and picturesque and loops through the park making your course approximately 2 miles long. Throughout the hike your guide will stop and explain the different nature specimens that can be observed, you can take photographs or just admire the view.
One of the highlights of this Manuel Antonio tour is that the park is home to 3 of the 4 existing monkey species in Costa Rica. Half way through the hike you will make a leisure stop at the third beach located within the national park. You will have approximately 20 minutes to rest on the beach or play among the waves if you so choose. Your Canopy Tour is a project designed as an extreme adventure and a way to enjoy nature without harming the environment. The property boasts spectacular views of the Herradura Bay and Island, as well as the Nicoya Gulf. Within the property, you will have the opportunity to view the Scarlet Macaws, Chestnut Mandible Toucans and white-face monkeys. The property rests on 80 acres of land, 50% of which is primary forest, where the canopy is located. The adventure starts on a 15 minute ride aboard our specially designed 40 passenger tractor. Once we arrive at the top of the mountain, we then descend to the bottom via a series of zip lines, including 15 platforms and 14 cables with a total cable distance of 3.5 kilometer including the longest cable in the area of 2400 ft!!!!

Savegre White Water Rafting
This Jaco tour provides transportation from your hotel to the river. You will enjoy the scenic road trip as it takes you over winding gravel roads through remote countryside landscapes. While you are attempting to tame the rapids of Savegre River, your guide will be riding beside you to ensure your safety. This river features class II and class III rapids. Once you reach the end of the river you will be able to take a closer look at your surroundings and admire the colorful flora and fauna. Your guide will lead you to a stunning waterfall where you will stop for snacks. You can take advantage of this relaxing pause and swim in the calm pond nearby. Your guide will help you find notable species of primary jungle vegetation. You will also be served a delicious homemade meal for lunch.
Transportation will be arranged for your return to the Hotel Don Carlos for two nights stay. Casinos and restaurants are located near the hotel.

Day 1:
Arrive at Liberia International Airport (LIR) where you'll be met by your private driver who'll be holding a sign with your name on it. He has your flight information and will track your flight just in case of delays or problems. He'll then take you to the Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel where you'll be spending the next three nights.

Rio Celeste Guided Rainforest Hike:

According to legend, after God was finished painting the sky, he washed the brushes in the river, inspiring its name, Rio Celeste (Light Blue River). We begin our hike in the primary Humid Forest where several fauna species and exuberant flora are easily found. We will also visit a magnificent waterfall and hot springs (swimming in dry season only). This tour is recommended for hikers or anyone that loves natural outdoor adventures. Remember your swimsuit, hiking shoes, sandals, binoculars, camera, sun block, money and hat.
A water bottle will be provided along with fruit juice, your guide, transportation and your entrance fee to the park.

Rafting on the Tenorio River:
Tenorio Rivers is beautiful and rises at Tenorio Volcano at Guanacaste mountain range. It’s pure, white water makes it the best river in the Guanacaste area for rafting. You can combine almost 20 kilometers of rapids with magnificent landscapes surrounded by tropical forest.
No experience is required but you will need to exert some effort on this world famous class III and IV white water rafting adventure before sitting down to a delicious lunch. Our staff will make you feel confident and our modern and certified equipment will help you mount the rapids smoothly and safely.
Day 4:
Private transfer to the town of La Fortuna, home of the famous Arenal Volcano
Arenal Kioro Hotel and restaurant offers you excellent accommodation with a natural viewpoint to the Arenal Volcano. The hotel has 27 acres of undulating land, surrounded by two streams ( La Palma and Kioro) with crystalline waters that flow from the Arenal Volcano National Park. It has two paths where plant species are identified and just 3 kilometers away there is a property with private thermal springs for your delight.

Hike through lush rainforest with a naturalist guide close to the base of the Arenal Volcano where you will wait for sunset at the observation point. Day 1:
Your flight will land in San Jose. Are you ready to begin your rejuvenation? Your private driver will be waiting as you exit the airport and will take you to Pura Vida Spa and Resort where you will spend the next three nights.
Pura Vida Spa is a private, gated, 8-acre mountainside estate in Costa Rica’s Alajuela province. It is only 20 minutes northwest of the SJO International Airport and 45 minutes from downtown San Jose. Located at almost 5,000 feet above sea-level. The resort has a mountainside Jacuzzi, a swimming pool, an honor bar and a gift shop featuring authentic Costa Rican fare. Three meals per day are included in your stay.
Weekly schedules vary according to the number of groups in a given week, the number of participants and availability of halls. Upon your arrival you will be provided with the schedule for the week. Not to worry the retreat will have discussed your specific needs via email prior to the event. To accommodate meal and excursion times, most teachers offer morning classes at 6 or 6:30 am. The sun rises here all year round at 5:30 am and by 6:00 am everyone is usually naturally awake and alert.
Day 2:
Today you will enjoy all the benefits of Pura Vida Spa and Resort. Take part in events scheduled at the resort, meditate and escape from the world in a beautiful and tranquil setting. There are five halls available for courses and yoga. In addition, there are lawn areas for outdoor meetings (sunrises and sunsets are spectacular!). Faculty is responsible for set-up of the halls in preparation for classes and take-down after each class. On-site coordinators are available for special requests (additional towels, water, other equipment, etc). Every hall is stocked with plenty of yoga mats, blocks, straps and blankets. No need to bring yours from home.
Day 3:
Today you spend the entire day at Pura Vida, participating in yoga in classes or on your own, in private. There are many scheduled activities to participate in as well. Enjoy your day in yoga, meditation and rejuvenation. Pura Vida Resort will be happy to accommodate your own evening classes.
Day 4:
This morning, your transfer will pick you up and take you to La Paz Waterfall Gardens. La Paz Waterfall Gardens is absolutely spectacular!
This large property features the World's largest butterfly observatory, hummingbird and orchid gardens, and perfectly designed, safe trails along the La Paz River with 5 large waterfalls. A true representation of the biodiverstity found in Costa Rica: lush, verdant green rainforest, lots of colorful birds, flowers and butterflies.
You will also visit Doka Coffee Estate and Poas Volcano. Breakfast and lunch included in the tour. In the evening you will be dropped off at Ama Tierra Wellness Resort.
You will spend the next 3 nights at Ama Tierra Wellness Resort. This is a complete package, which provides all meals, 2 yoga classes, an one hour wellness treatment and a trip to Turubari Park.
Guests are greeted with a fresh juice smoothie and have time to settle into their private casitas and explore the property. At 7:00, come to the dining room to enjoy a delicious, healthy family-style dinner cooked by local chefs. Retire for the evening with a DVD of your choosing from the in-hotel library.
Day 5:
Relaxation. First, enjoy a morning yoga class in AmaTierra's inspiring new open-air studio, followed by a healthy breakfast on the balcony overlooking the valley below. Later, take a refreshing swim in the pool and get back to nature by hiking to the stream and ocean viewpoint located on the property. Next, a light lunch before your personalized massage. Now feeling completely relaxed, take a bath in the tub in your casita. Again, dinner is at 7:00, and it promises to be just as yummy as the night before.
Day 6:
Adventure. Wake up early and come to the dining room for breakfast. Next, head to Turubari Park, a local eco-adventure park, where you are given a guided tour, complete with explanations of Costa Rican plant and animal life and a fabulous typical Costa Rican lunch. After your tour, go for a horseback ride, or if you’re feeling really adventurous, try the zip-line course—a definite must-do in Costa Rica.
Come back to AmaTierra and relax from your long day by the pool or in your casita. Before dinner (you guessed it--7:00!), enjoy another relaxing yoga class, or if you’re too tired from the day we will be happy to wait until the following morning before your departure. Check-out the next day anytime before noon.

Today your driver will pick you up and take you to Zamora Estates where you will spend your last night relaxing. The Zamora Estates Hotel is your unexpected and intriguing island of natural beauty hidden on the outskirts of San Jose.
You'll be whisked away from the cares of this world as you relax in your private cottage. Generations of the Zamora family who run the Estate have carefully guarded this secluded sanctuary, yet now make it available to you for the first time in 110 years.
