Day One – Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica where, after being met at the airport, your private driver whisks you to Hotel Alta, a luxurious boutique hotel with only 23 deluxe rooms and suites overlooking the stunning “Sun Valley” yet minutes from the international airport. Here you’ll stay in a spacious Junior Suite, complete with a king bed, adjoining living room and a private balcony.
Day Two – After breakfast, you’ll take a short 25-minute flight to Quepos airport and then a 45–minute drive to the heart of the rainforest, home of the amazing Rafiki Safari Lodge, a luxury tent camp nestled on 750 acres of pristine jungle along the Savegre River. The spacious luxury tents were imported from South Africa - the large windows bring the sounds and the smells of the forest in, while the canvas walls keep the bugs and the elements out. Fire heated showers take the chill out of the spring water while gourmet meals nourish the body and soul. A unique experience! Honeymoon Tent with three gourmet meals a day included.
Day Three – Your rainforest adventure continues with a wet and wild white water rafting trip down Class II- IV rapids on the Savegre River.
Day Four – A short drive back to Quepos and then a quick flight to the Osa Penninsula, called the ‘Amazon’ of Costa Rica. Here you’ll stay at the stunning Lapa Rios, built in harmony with the surrounding forest and beach environment. Located high on a ridge overlooking the ocean, this lodge has won countless awards for it’s luxurious setting in the midst of the deep jungle. Your bungalow features warm wooden floors, two bamboo queen-size beds, classic bamboo furnishings, a private wooden deck, secluded garden shower, newly remodeled bathrooms (a stone-laid floor massages your feet as you shower under a soft, rain-like cold water shoot while the other side offers the more conventional hot and warm water solar-powered tile floor shower). Three gourmet meals are included.
Day Five – Lace up the hiking boots as today, you’re in for the complete rain forest experience! This hiking tour descends through the reserve’s most remote and pristine forest. The 4 km. trail features many different types of rain forest vegetation, flora and fauna. Tour length – 3.5 – 4 hours, medium to difficult. Upon returning to Lapa Rios, soothe those aching walking muscles with a relaxing massage.
Day Six - Enjoy a day on the water where you’ll snorkel in the warm waters and look for dolphins.
Day Seven – Time to say goodbye to the jungle and head back to civilization. After flying back to San Jose, you’ll overnight once more at Hotel Alta in a Junior Suite.
Day Eight – your private driver will transport you to San Jose airport for your flight home after your wild and wonderful honeymoon!
